FASSD Profile
There are approximately 265 members of the FASSD, including security analysts, portfolio managers, bankers, and other investment professionals. More than fifty percent of FASSD members hold the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designation, and many others are currently candidates for this professional designation.
The FASSD sponsors luncheons with presentations by top management of companies, educational seminars and workshops, and programs on economics, capital markets and other topics of current interest to the investment community.
Membership in the FASSD also confers membership in the Association for Investment Management and Research (AIMR), a nonprofit professional organization of investment practitioners. The mission of AIMR is to maintain a permanent professional organization with the highest possible ehtical, professional, and educational standards within the broadly defined investment management and research community. AIMR was founded in January 1990 as a result of the combination of the FAF and the Instituted of Chartered Financial Analysts (ICFA).
The FASSD informs members of the society’s activities through periodic mailings of program announcements, employment opportunities, and other news of interest to FASSD members. Support of the CFA examination program through study groups and, in conjunction with the Los Angeles Society of Financial Analysts, an annual twenty week CFA exam review.
FASSD members, through their a affiliation with AIMR, are entitled to attend AIMR conferences and seminars at member rates and receive AIMR pulbications.
