FASSD Supports San Diego Military Families
On Friday, November 2, 2001, FASSD held its annual social at the Darlington House in La Jolla. Though always a good time, this year’s event was a special occasion.
As usual, we took the opportunity to recognize San Diego’s newest CFA® charterholders. They were heartily welcomed into our ranks.
But this year’s event was more than that. Inspired by the sacrifices endured by San Diego area military servicemen and women, and their families, who endure at or below the poverty line while serving their country, the Society asked for donations from members who attended the social.
FASSD collected $500 from attendees to benefit these local military families in need. In addition, the Society matched these donations dollar for dollar from the society’s general funds, for a total of $1,000.
This money will be contributed to the 10Leadership Fund and then distributed to other local military support organizations. Click here to read more about the effort.
